Photography for Teens

April 10, 2:30-5 p.m.
Southeast Branch Library, Community Room
Come learn about the basic skills needed to become a photographer! Composition, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, photo editing, and more. Everyone will also get to participate in a portrait photo shoot and get to pick his or her favorite shot to be professionally printed. We will also be demonstrating how to clean up your photos in Photoshop.
If you are interested in photography but do not know where to start learning, this workshop is perfect for you. Whether you are an absolute beginner, or a seasoned photographer, you will enjoy learning and meeting teens that share your interests! This is also a great way to get a great new picture to use for your Facebook or MySpace page.
Teens with cameras are encouraged to bring them, but a digital camera will be provided for the photo shoot. This class for teens in grades 7 through 12. Registration is required. Please register here.

TONIGHT - Vampires at the Levitt, 7 p.m.
Don't forget! Tonight is Vampires at the Levitt. Everyone is invited (yes, even Mom and Dad!), but only teens with MyCards will be able to win prizes. If you don't have a MyCard, you can get one there. Come and enjoy an outdoor screening of everyone's favorite vampire/human couple (with a dash of werewolf-to-be, of course). Hope to see you there!

Hayao Miyazaki is one of Japan’s most prominent filmmakers, creating a multitude of magical, animated worlds for us to experience and explore. If you’re between the ages of 12 and 18, come join us for an event unlike any other as the library presents an all-day assortment of his most loved classics. Drinks and snacks will be provided, but not lunch, so please bring your own.
