Summer Reading Club is a few days away!!

Just a few more days and Summer Reading Club is back! As a reminder, all info is on the Teen page of the website, so follow the link if you want more details. For now, get ready for the first two SRC activities:

Little Box of Time
Friday, June 4th, 2 p.m.

Hey teens, it is our second annual time capsule, Little Box of Time. Each year we will add to this box and look back at who we’ve been. So don’t miss your chance to make your mark at the Southwest Branch Library!




Game On! Teen Summer Reading Club 2010 Kickoff
June 5, 1-5 p.m.
Southeast Branch Library, Community Room

Get your gaming competition ON as we celebrate the start of Summer Reading Club. We’re gonna kick off the summer with Super Smash Brothers® Brawl, Mario Kart®, and Guitar Hero™ competition! Not the competitive type? No problem! Free play games and board games will be available as well. Anyone going into the 7-12th grade is welcome. Snacks will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to the best player on each game.

Registration is required. Make sure to write in the Notes field the game(s) you want to be included in! If you just want to free play, then leave the Notes field blank. Competition spots will be limited to the first 20 players who sign up.

Miyazaki Movie Marathon - TODAY!!

Hayao Miyazaki is one of Japan’s most prominent filmmakers, creating a multitude of magical, animated worlds for us to experience and explore. If you’re between the ages of 12 and 18, come join us for an event unlike any other as the library presents an all-day assortment of his most loved classics. Drinks and snacks will be provided, but not lunch, so please bring your own.
