Teen Review by Areesa.... Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling

Another year approaches for Harry Potter at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry but even before Harry returns to Hogwarts he hears something that has put even the muggles in fear. Sirius Black a known killer and servant of Voldemort(He Who Must Not Be Named) escapes from Azkaban a place known to be even worse than death with dementors sprawling in every corner and sucking all the happiness out of you. A place that was known impossible to escape - until now. Sirius Black being the only to escape makes him even more dangerous and the one thing he kept while in Azkaban was "He's at Hogwarts..."

The third year of Hogwarts for Harry is filled with revenge,betrayal,Quittitch and surprises within every page you turn!

Slytherin wins against Gryffindor in HP Trivia

That's right. Slytherin beat Gryffindor! It was girls versus guys at Woodland West Branch's Harry Potter Trivia event. All the ladies joined Slytherin house and beat the Gryffindor guys by 10 points. It was an intense trivia match, with lots of debate (mostly because the question-maker was a bit of dork on a few questions - sorry, guys!) and a ton of laughter (mostly at my expense).

At the end, trivia contestant Hayley won a new copy of Tales of Beedle the Bard, while contestant Tara won a hand-knit Harry Potter scarf.

HP displays

Speaking of Harry Potter, you should really check out the Harry Potter displays at Lake Arlington and Woodland West. I hear they are pretty schnazy. If I can get my hands on some photos, I'll post pics of the displays!

Everyone's favorite wizard is back on the big screen!

To celebrate the upcoming Harry Potter movie, the Central Library and Woodland West Branch are hosting a few programs the week the movie comes out.

Harry Potter Mania!

Come celebrate all things Harry Potter exactly one week before the new movie comes out! We test your muggle brain with trivia and have Harry Potter themed crafts followed by the showing of the most recent movie out on DVD! Snacks will be provided. Harry Potter costumes are encouraged! Participants should be 13-18 years old due to the PG-13 rating of the movie.
