Blogger Appreciation Week - Jennifer's Meme Post

Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
It’s kind of hard to read and eat at the same time so unless I’m at lunch, I tend not to eat while I’m reading.

Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
I do not like writing in books at all unless they’re workbooks.

How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears?
I have a lot of bookmarks that I keep and use, but if I don’t happen to have one with me (which does tend to happen), I do the same thing Amy does and just try to find where I left off.

Laying the book flat open?
If it’s a hardback and it can lie on a table easily and it won’t damage the book, then yes. Never with a paperback though.

Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
I like to read fiction unless there’s a topic I’m interested in learning about or I'm doing some kind of special project like a craft or something.

Hard copy or audiobooks?
I’ve never actually listened to an audio book, so I can’t make a real choice here. I do like hard copies though!

Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
It depends on how far I am in the chapter. If I am almost done with it, I try to finish it before putting the book down. If not, I will definitely stop in the middle of it.

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
If I’m by a computer, definitely. It has to be really unfamiliar though and I sometimes want to know what it means even if I can still understand the sentence. If I’m away from a computer, I try using my phone to go online, but Dictionary.com has been being weird lately on my phone.

What are you currently reading?
The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima
The Merchant of Death by D.J. MacHale
Truancy by Isamu Fukui <--- This is the book I’m concentrating on right now because I need to finish and review it. :\

What is the last book you bought?
I bought a book that has memoires of two survivors of the Titanic because I am a huge Titanic fan, but I can’t remember the name, I couldn’t find it on Amazon, and it’s not in front of me right now, but that’s the last book I bought.

Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time?
I try to only read one at a time, but sometimes (like now), I’ll read more than one. I’m concentrating on Truancy right now though because I need to finish that one really soon.

Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read?
Not really. Just whenever I have time. And I like to read anywhere where it doesn't hurt my back.

Do you prefer series books or stand alone books?
Well, I do like series but I also really like stand alone. Although when I read series I always really want to read the next book and I hate when I have to wait!

Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?
Evermore by Alyson Noël. I really like it because I tend to be girly sometimes and some people have told me it's not that good, but I sitll love it! I am impatiently waiting for the newest book in the series to come out in January!

How do you organize your books? (By genre, title, author’s last name, etc.?)
I actually have a fiction and non-fiction section on my book shelf and shelve them by title.
